Lenovo and IBM Parnterships Make x86 System Transition Seamless
January 23, 2014
Lenovo’s announcement today that it has offered to purchase IBM’s x86 server business was not a shock to the industry but certainly leaves IT organizations questioning what this means for them if they employ IBM hardware affected by the sale.
For IT Hardware Plus (ITHWP), the transition will be virtually seamless. As a certified IBM Business Partner and Lenovo Business Partner, ITHWP offers giving its customers an edge with this new technology shift.
“We are well-positioned to help our customers with the x86 server business transition,” says Tom Hansen, ITHWP President. “Our expertise with IBM’s products, coupled with our strong relationship with and knowledge of Lenovo and its products, is ideal for any customer seeking services and solutions during this transition period and beyond.”
In less than a decade Lenovo has become a dominate player in the PC world. The company’s chairman and CEO, Yan Yuanqing, is confident Lenovo’s move into the x86 industry will prove equally as strong.
“With the right strategy, great execution, continued innovation and a clear commitment to the x86 industry, we are confident that we can grow this business successfully for the long-term, just as we have done with our worldwide PC business,” says Yuanqing. (computerweekly.com, January 23, 2013)
